Hi, I’m Heather Rasley, which rhymes with paisley. I was formerly known as Heather Merrick, too.
I’m interested in the intersection of technology + society + culture + art. I’ve been writing about miscellaneous stuff on the internet since 2001.
I have 15 years of experience working at high-growth startups, including Stripe and Tumblr. Most recently, I’ve been focused on AI policy as Director of Trust and Safety at Glif.app.
I have a Humanities B.A. from New College of Florida, where my undergraduate thesis explored early online communities. I attended the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) at NYU, where I learned how to make LEDs blink, among other things.
I’ve lived in cities around the world, including Brooklyn, San Francisco, and Gothenburg, Sweden. Now Seattle is home.
